The light of the sun is necessary for life of men, animals and plants. But there is always a romance about the light of moon. It is simply soothing and refreshing. It is pleasing to all. With the imaginative poets, the moon is the queen of heaven. All these show how man like and love moon.
On such a moon-lit night I along with a few friends started for a long walk towards the river side. When the moon bathes the whole earth with its balmy light and weaves a dreamy atmosphere, we cannot but be forgetful of our worries and anxieties. We then merge ourselves into the delight it offers us.adamjeecoaching.blogspot.com
The moon was slowly climbing up in the sky. I suddenly remembered a few lines on the moon. I asked the moon, "Are you pale for climbing? Why are you looking at the earth? Why do you wander alone in the sky?" The moon looked pale and weary because she was climbing the difficult heights. I wished that I were a poet and a painter. I could have given a good description of the magic moonlight.
As we went further we saw house-tops covered with the moonlight. The trees stood silent. They looked as if they were in meditation. As we passed out of the city, there was growing peace and clam. We left the noise of the city far behind. Tall palm trees stood with proud in attention. They looked like watchmen to guard the peace of the beautiful night. We could hear the humming of insects at a distance.
All of a sudden a dark big cloud appeared in the sky. It came against the moon and covered it completely from our view. The rest of the sky was flood with moonlight. At once one of us cried out "The dark cloud looks like a black spot on the face of a beautiful woman".
We walked under the light and shade of the trees. We came to the river side after a kilometre long pleasant walk, We were cracking jokes. We saw the milky coloured water of the river. It was flowing slowly. It was producing sweet sound. I felt that the river was bathing in the moonlight. All round it was quiet. The moonlight was equally spread on the ground. It looked like a milk or liquid silver.
I remember the words of a Persian poet who said, "The moonlight was so beautiful that a cat licked the ground thinking the moonlight to be milk." We sat till late. My dearest friend, Rafi, recited a beautiful poem on moonlight. We returned home struck by the beauty of the charming face of the moon.
